Description

System requirements

The SBD Dauntless was the workhorse of the U.S. Navy, serving as its primary carrier-based dive bomber from 1940 until the end of 1944.

This plane is for players who enjoy diving onto a target and holding the line until the last moment. The SBD Dauntless was a carrier dive bomber that flew the Pacific in the early 1940s, and this add-on brings it into your hangar. The mood here is calm and focused: line up the run, time the drop, and get out of the flak. The highlights: - The first sorties revolve around precise bombing: pick a target, enter the dive, and work it over. - The aircraft is heavy and deliberate, so every run takes planning rather than brute force. - You can tailor the loadout to the mission, from lighter to heavier bombs, with machine guns for defense if a fighter comes after you. - Extra bombs and a pylon container unlock as you progress through the game's missions, giving you something to work toward. The add-on works only on an account that already owns the base game Aces of Thunder. The SBD Dauntless was the workhorse of the U.S. Navy, serving as its primary carrier-based dive bomber from 1940 until the end of 1944. The SBD participated in many battles in the Pacific Theater, with one of its most significant successes being the sinking of the Japanese aircraft carrier Shōhō during the Battle of the Coral Sea in May 1942. Its forward-firing armament consisted of two 12.7 mm Browning M2 machine guns. The external ordnance included 100-, 500-, 1000-, and 1600-pound bombs. For self-defense, it was equipped with two 7.62 mm Browning machine guns mounted in the rear.
