Age of Wonders 4: Secrets of the Archmages (DLC)

This expansion is for players who have already spent plenty of evenings in Age of Wonders 4 and want something a little stranger. The mood is noticeably darker than the base game: mists, demons, fey courts and ancient mages who still cannot agree on who rules. The highlights: - Your first sessions will go to the new spellbooks. Renunciation, gluttony and burning passion change how you build your armies, and the spider book makes you rethink tactics on the battlefield. - The story runs along three separate threads: Merlin's apprentice, a fallen archon and a rescue from the mist. You can take them in any order. - The owl folk play nothing like the factions in the base game, and they are worth trying at least once to see how they feel. - Hidden realms on the world map open up places that were closed before, so familiar maps will feel different.
