Aseprite is a pixel-art tool to create 2D animations, sprites, and any kind of graphics for games.

Aseprite is for people who draw pixels for their own games or just enjoy working with small sprites and want a tool that stays out of the way. It is a working program, not a toy, and the mood is calm and focused: you sit down, open the timeline and move frames around until the animation plays the way you want. What to expect: - The first few evenings go to getting used to the timeline and frame tags: they look like a lot at first, but soon you use them without thinking. - Onion skin and real-time animation preview let you see neighboring frames, so movement comes out smooth even on the first try. - Tools like RotSprite, tiled mode and contour fill save time where a regular editor would make you work by hand. - There is a command line for batch conversion and sprite sheet generation, so you can hand the routine to a script and keep drawing.
