Description

System requirements

This expansion for Democracy 3 adds 33 new situations and policies that reflect the more extreme side of politics, all within the framework of a democracy. Fed up with just adjusting taxes and government spending in the conventional sense? Perhaps you think your people need the national anthem sung at the start of every news broadcast?

This one is for players who are tired of tweaking tax rates within polite limits. You will face the kind of decisions a normal strategy game never asks for, from an anthem at the start of every news broadcast to closing the country's airports to protect the environment. The tone is dry and a little wry, but the consequences are real. What hooks you: - The first hours go into testing how much your public will swallow: which measure they still accept, and which one gets you thrown out of office. - The new policies noticeably change the rhythm of a run, since one decision pulls a chain of consequences behind it and you have to plan several turns ahead. - It sits on top of the base game, so your saves and familiar mechanics stay exactly where they are. - There is plenty of room to experiment: you can play the same country several times and reach a different ending each time. This expansion for Democracy 3 adds 33 new situations and policies that reflect the more extreme side of politics, all within the framework of a democracy. Fed up with just adjusting taxes and government spending in the conventional sense? Perhaps you think your people need the national anthem sung at the start of every news broadcast? or maybe what they are crying out for is a ban on divorce, or same-sex relationships? Alternatively you might like to close your countries airports to save the environment, or maybe outright ban private education? How far to the extremes can you take your country and still maintain the support of the people (and avoid some of them putting a gun to your head). Democracy 3:Extremism, for when fiddling with tax rates simply isn't enough!
