Train Sim World® 5: BR Class 86/2 & Mk2F Coaches Loco Add-On (DLC)

This add-on is for players who enjoy heavy electric locomotives and a slow, steady run along an old British mainline. If you like engines with character that need careful handling rather than just throttle, this pack is worth a look. What you'll like: - The Class 86/2 asks for attention: its power is modest compared to later machines, so you'll need to plan your acceleration up to 100 mph. - The Mk2F air-conditioned coaches and the Mk1 buffet car give your train a lived-in passenger feel, and you'll notice the difference on the Preston to Carlisle route. - The triple windscreen and the blanked-off headcode panel make it easy to spot against other locomotives in the series. - The pack brings new rolling stock to the WCML route you already know, so there's plenty of cab time ahead. After purchase, the game arrives as a Steam gift: the bot adds you as a friend via your Quick Invite link and sends the add-on to your account. Tap into classic British AC traction with the iconic BR Class 86/2 from Just Trains. The 86 brings additional challenges to the stunning WCML: Preston - Carlisle route, as well as all-new variety in the form of British Rail’s ubiquitous air-con-equipped BR Mk2F coaches plus the much sought-after Mk1 RMB Buffet Car! The Class 86 entered service in the mid-1960s after years of testing different designs to run on the newly electrified West Coast Main Line. Known originally as the AL6, it would become the first mass-produced AC loco for the new fleet with 100 examples built. Over time, a revision to the suspension was undertaken to solve issues of rough riding and track wear, these changes resulted in what became known as the Class 86/2 subclass. Being the precursor to the Class 87, the Class 86/2, with less horsepower, was capable of 100mph which makes for a more challenging driving experience. Other differences from the 87 include the plated-over Headcode box and the distinctive triple windscreen. In Train Sim World, the Class 86/2 provides a wealth of additional variety for the WCML: Preston - Carlisle roster. The 86 substitutes into cross-country services, as does the brand-new coaches! The air-conditioned Mk2s were the mainstay of many long-distance passenger trains after their introduction in the 1970s, and have seen use ever since, in both service, engineering and railtour duties. Also included is a new Mk1 RMB for all your British Rail buffet needs; sandwich anyone? Take the 86 for a spin across a set of 5 new scenarios or put it through its paces with Free Roam on any route! Combine the new Mk2Fs and RMB Buffet Car with your train collection in Formation Designer for custom rail excursions.
