X-Plane 12 Add-on: Aerosoft - Svalbard XP (DLC)

Description

System requirements

Svalbard XP is a highly realistic recreation of the Svalbard islands for X-Plane 11 and 12. The Norwegian archipelago in the Arctic Ocean is situated about midway between continental Norway and the North Pole. The islands range from 74° to 81° northern latitude, north of the Polar Circle.

This add-on is for pilots who are tired of the same familiar scenery and want to fly somewhere quieter, over ice, fjords and rock at the edge of the map. The mood is calm and a little rugged, and that is exactly the appeal. Svalbard here is not a generic snowy backdrop but a real set of islands you can actually fly across. Why grab it: - Your first flights go to getting to know the terrain: the coastline, glaciers and mountains look convincing, and you will likely end up circling the archipelago just for the view. - The airfields are more than decoration. You can land at Longyear, Svea and Ny Alesund, and the helipads and settlements like Pyramiden give you reasons for short hops. - Night flying is worth trying here, since the lighting and polar twilight change the scene noticeably. - You get the whole island group, roughly 61,000 km², rather than a handful of isolated points. The base X-Plane 12 needs to be on your account. This area isn‘t covered by the X-Plane default scenery. So, the scenery package Svalbard not only fills this gap in the X-Plane landcape but also includes all airports and heliports of this region: Svalbard lufthavn, Longyear (ENSB), Svea (ENSA), Ny Alesund (ENAS), Barentsburg (ENBA) and Pyramiden (ENPY). Features: - Highly realistic recreation of the complete islands group of Svalbard with an area of about 61000 km² - High resolution mesh with detailed coast lines and shapes of glaciers - Customized local terrain details where reasonable, a.e. in the surrounding of the airports - High detail models of all airport buildings and installations with customized objects - Photo realistic generic ground textures - Realistic night time effects
