The Black Knight Chronicles - The Widow without Time

This is a jRPG for anyone who misses the classics but still wants modern visuals. The world is cold and quiet, and the hero at first has no interest in digging into other people's secrets, which is exactly why the story pulls you in. You'll soon notice that almost everyone you meet knows something important, so it pays to hear them out. What hooks you: - At first, your time goes to questioning people, exploring dungeons, and getting to know the party that forms along the way. - Combat is turn-based with a side view, and the spells look so good you'll want to watch every hit again. - There are plenty of side quests and secrets, and some are hidden well enough that you'll miss them without paying attention. - Quality-of-life features are thoughtful: the journal points you forward when the story leaves you lost. Home to many mysteries and secrets, legends tell of the Timeless Widow, Goddess-Queen of the Ancients who were wiped out during the great calamity centuries ago. Now only their secrets remain... In this world of cold the legendary Black Knight finds that some secrets should never be uncovered. Thrust into an epic tale of betrayal, death and tragedy, this lone warrior must join forces with an unlikely group of misfits to save the lands from the secrets the Ancients left behind... The Black Knight Chronicles - The Widow without Time is a traditional jRPG in the style of many 16-bit adventures, just modernized. The game features traditional sprites, and more refined now than ever before. The world is filled with details, each NPC has something to say and there are dungeons aplenty to explore. Combat is turn-based and resembles classic sideview systems with nicely animated fighters and effects-heavy spells. The music is orchestral with modern, electronic elements and the story is told through a mix of direct interaction with characters, cutscenes and gameplay. If you like RPGs you can't miss this renaissance of the traditions that made the jRPG genre the behemoth it is today. ---------------------------------- - Characters and stories to fall in love with - Gripping main quest with hours of content - Large amounts of sidequests and secret - Classic gameplay with lots of quality of life improvements - Detailed questlog to keep track of your progress - The Ancient Cave will keep you going for hours - Epic music by Alexander Ehlers
