The Rewinder is an adventure puzzle game based on Chinese mythology. You play as Yun, the last known Rewinder, who can communicate with spirits and explore other people's memories to alter the past.

This one is for players who like slow stories with a mystery and don't mind a puzzle or two. The Rewinder looks like an ink painting that came alive: pixels form misty mountains, winding roads and old buildings, and a quiet melancholy hangs over all of it without tipping into gloom. You play as Yun, who slips into people's memories and nudges their choices, and that's how the story moves forward. The highlights: - Your first sessions go to figuring out how feelings and intentions work, and to realizing that one small change in someone's memory can turn an entire village around. - It's a compact, one-on-one story with an eerie mood, especially in the empty village. - The folklore isn't just scenery: the guardian spirits, Tudigong and the underworld guardians appear naturally along the way instead of feeling like a monster checklist. - The puzzles are tied to the plot, so every solution teaches you more about what happened seven years ago. After payment you receive a Steam activation key for the Global region, shown right on your order page. To buy The Rewinder Global key, just place your order here, then activate it in your Steam client. The Rewinder is a 2D puzzle adventure game inspired by traditional Chinese folklore. The game uses pixel art to mimic the aesthetics of Chinese ink paintings. Players will get to meet mythological figures such as the Spirit Wardens, the Ox-head and Horse-face Guardians of the Beyond, and the Tudi Gong (Keeper of the Land). The player takes on the role of Yun, a "rewinder" who has the ability to enter people's memories and influence their actions. By utilizing "senses" and swaying others' "intentions", he can change history. At the request of the Spirit Wardens, Yun goes to a small village to investigate why a spirit couldn't be reincarnated. The once thriving village has been deserted and filled with resentful spirits, leaving one woman alone in the teahouse. Who's she waiting for? Where did all the other villagers go? What really happened seven years ago?
